The Noble Breed...

The Arabian is the oldest breed of horse in the world. A genuine Arab horse of pure decent is unrivalled and unmistakable, for it possesses a beautiful symmetry and harmony of preparation. Hallmarks of the breed are its exquisite head and high tail carriage. Other notable features are a short back, a majestic arch of the neck and above all an imposing presence. The Arab horse is also noble, intelligent and affectionate, with a gentle but spirited disposition, yet when roused or exited, it is famed for its vigour, courage and great powers of endurance.

In the year 622AD, the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) was engaged in his campaign to bring Islam to the people of the world. He was known to have two weapons in his favour. A flewent belief in his teachings and excellent horses, even today Muslims understand that their Great Prophet (peace be upon him) was endowed with a remarkable understanding of horses and horse breading. Religious books and history books recognised that he produced some incomparable Arab pure-breds.

The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) ordered that a herd of horses be left without water for seven days. When their enclosure was opened, the animals raced towards their watering place. The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) then sounded the call to battle. Immediately five mares turned in response and raced back to him without having fist quenched their thirst. The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed for them, God blessed these horses. All pure-bred Arabs are said to be descended from these five mares. The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) was stringently careful when selecting horses for breeding and demanded that the bloodline be kept absolutely pure.

Omar, the Prophet’s (SAW) companion said
“Love horses and look after them, for they deserve your tenderness, treat them as you do your children.”

“Their belly is a treasure and their back a seat of honour”
Prophet Muhammed (SAW)

Perhaps...God willing, the Arab horse will live on and please men as it once pleased the Creator who made it. And God has created horses... for you to ride and as an adornment.
Holy Quraan

Blessed be ye, O daughters of the wind.
Prophet Muhammed (SAW)

Of all the creatures God made at the creation, there is none more excellent, or so much to be respected as a horse.

“The air of heaven is that which blows between a horse’s ears.”
Arabian Proverb.
